Mishma Industry (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is committed to providing high-performance magnetic materials for global industries. Among its advanced product line, Alnico permanent magnets stand out as a reliable solution with excellent thermal stability, durability, and consistent magnetic performance.

What Are Alnico Permanent Magnets?

Alnico permanent magnets are magnetic materials composed mainly of aluminum (Al), nickel (Ni), and cobalt (Co), with additions of iron, copper, and sometimes titanium. They are known for their high magnetic flux density, good corrosion resistance, and, most importantly, their ability to maintain stable performance even under elevated temperatures of up to 500°C.

Because of these properties, Alnico magnets are widely used in applications requiring accuracy, reliability, and heat resistance, such as instrumentation, sensors, electric motors, and aerospace devices.

Cast Alnico Magnet vs. Sintered Alnico Magnet

Alnico magnets are manufactured primarily through two processes: casting and sintering. Each method produces magnets with unique characteristics:

  • Cast Alnico Magnet

    • Manufactured by pouring molten alloy into molds and then heat-treating and cooling under controlled conditions.

    • Allows production of complex shapes such as horseshoes, rings, and custom geometries.

    • Offers the highest magnetic flux density among Alnico magnets.

    • Commonly used in rotating machinery, meters, and sensors where strong magnetic fields are required.

  • Sintered Alnico Magnet

    • Produced by compacting powdered alloy into a desired shape and sintering it at high temperatures.

    • Provides tighter dimensional tolerances, making it suitable for small or precision components.

    • Slightly lower magnetic strength compared to cast Alnico, but offers better uniformity and mechanical strength.

    • Widely applied in electronic devices, precision instruments, and communication equipment.

In summary, cast Alnico magnets are ideal for applications requiring higher magnetic strength and more complex shapes, while sintered Alnico magnets are best suited for precision components with tight dimensional control.

Mishma Industry (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. combines advanced manufacturing expertise with strict quality assurance to deliver both cast and sintered Alnico permanent magnets tailored to industry needs. With a focus on durability, performance, and customization, the company ensures that its magnetic materials support innovation in fields ranging from industrial automation to aerospace technology.
